Well depending on how I feel tomorrow I might leave sunday to the climb the middle palisade other wise Im climbing Shasta on july 15th and then Rainier Aug 5th.

Thanks Man! None of us really felt the altitude that day. I think we acclimated enough at the portal so going from 8,300' to 12,300' wasn't hard on us.

I Just Got back from Whitney at 2:30 this morning after a successful summit and amazing trip. From Bear encounters, steep and icy terrain, difficult ice covered scrambles, and amazing people this trip had it all. I'm hoping we will vs snowshoes. I'm calling the rangers tomorrow to see what the snow is like if it's still powder I dont think I will go. But if the snow is hard enough for crampons I really want to climb it again.

If we get up to the trail head early we could totally do it are you looking to summit or just go to the ski hut? Because of the snow will need crampons to go to the summit and maybe even to go to the ski hut and and ice axe for the summit to.

If you have boots with a toe and heel welt i would highly recommend the black diamond sabertooth crampons if you need a strap only i would get the BD contact strap crampons.
