No, I haven't tried that, but I've eyeballed the same slope. The rocks look bigger and more annoying on that side, at least from what I can see at the parking lot.

Thanks for the report. That road can get muddy after storms. Maybe they finally paved the bad section for the ranch owner. I haven't been over that way in several months, but we used to go up that road regularly while working on the Yerba Buena Trail. The creek boasts a chorus of frogs at night.

Sounds like you hit the bumps NW of Verdugo Peak. Did you see a slightly higher mountain with a large fence and towers? That's Verdugo Peak.
