I hit Chaparossa Peak (5541') in the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve yesterday. The weather was great: mostly sunny and temps in the upper 40s - low 50s. The trail was in pretty good shape considering the recent rain. We took the Chaparossa Peak Trail to the summit and returned via the Pipes Canyon Trail. There was water flowing in Pipes Wash.

Done.

Normally I move these to Other Ranges with a shadow topic in the original forum, and then I "archive" them to a TR subforum after a couple months. But this time I'll just leave this here to avoid confusion.

Thanks! It's been a while since I've posted here and the structure takes a bit of getting used to.

A couple miles north west of Pioneertown. Awesome area. A lot less crowded than JT.

Thanks. I never heard of this place. That's interesting how the conservancy thinks the area is changing from a pinyon forest to scrub oaks.
