Water flow in Big Santa Anita Canyon

My kids got ol' dad a new pack for Father's Day and I was thinking of breaking it in on a short overnighter to Hoagees.

How is the water flow in the canyon, both Winter Creek and Big Santa Anita? Haven't been up there yet this season.

So I did the Winter Creek loop from Chantry yesterday. The creek is flowing, though it goes underground in several places, usually above the check dams. I had forgotten how nice that area is during the week. Plenty of parking, no crowds, though the rangers were on high alert to keep the kids from burning the place down with illegal fireworks. All in all, a gorgeous day in the front range.
