Whoooohooo! Now that some of the forests are open it was time to get out and continue doing what I love! Last week, I met with some of my crazy Wednesday hiking crew and we returned to the Los Padres area. I had previously hiked this death-defying ridge last year, Razorback. This time we wanted to do the opposite ridge of the bowl. We made this a carpool shuttle and started walking through a wash as far as we could go. We hung out for awhile climbing up the rocks in the gullies before traversing up a steep ridge. The ridge was very slippery and some of my buddies wore spikes but a few of us decided we didn't need them. Poles were helpful. We had lunch at our final destination on the ridge under some shady trees. The views below were breathtaking and we could clearly see the ridge we hiked last year. This was an amazing place to hike and there was not a soul in sight.

View of our destination and lunch spot.

Views from below the gully. Even though it looks close we still had a ways to go.

Finally, on top of the ridge after some tough scrambling, admiring the views below and the ridge we ascended.
