On our last day in the Eastern Sierras we decided to do some short hikes so that we could leave early and get home before dark. We drove towards the Whitney Portal. First stop was at some unknown trail to check out the painted rock face. Then we drove to the Arch trail. There is lots of opportunity for rock scrambling and I definitely took advantage of it.

The main attraction here is the Arch that gives you a window view of Mt. Whitney. But it is best to look through it on a clear day. It was overcast but we could still see Mt. Whitney through the clouds.
