Sadly, Red Mountain Fire Lookout was claimed last night by the Fairview fire. Despite the enormous efforts of the multi-agency fire crews and aircraft. She held out until a large blowup during the night took her down. This is an incredibly sad event for everybody, especially the volunteer fire lookouts who have staffed Red Mountain faithfully over the years. Red Mountain Lookout: 1937 - 2022 Out of Service.
